There are many ways to get creative when making your own Yoto card. You can have a family member record a story, use your own voice to read a favourite book, sing a few family favourite songs, or even record birthday wishes from loved ones for a special birthday surprise.

How To Make Recordings On your Phone and Link Them To a MYO Card

1. iPhone Voice Memo App

You can use the Voice Memo feature on your iPhone to record personalized audio.

The Voice Memo App looks like this:

You can make recordings by clicking the record button and then naming the file.

2. Android Voice Recorder App

Similarly, on an Android phone, you can use the Recorder app, which works in much the same way.

Once you've finished your recording, you can share it to Google Drive and then download the m4a file, which is another file format that works in the Yoto app and on the MYO cards.

3. Record yourself in the Yoto App

Go to the Make Your Own Cards section of the App and click My Recordings

You can record and save your own audio in My Recordings and use these files to create a playlist.

Now that you have your own recordings saved on your phone, you can put them onto a Make Your Own Card.

First note where your audio files are saved on your phone. Once you know which folder they are in, you can make a playlist in the Yoto app by clicking on the blue Make Playlist icon.

Next, link your playlist to a card.

Back in the Yoto app you will see your newly created playlist in the library.

Tap your new playlist to go to the detail page, then tap the three dot menu and select Link to a Card

Insert a Make Your Own card into your Player and confirm by tapping Link in the pop-up panel.

You should see a red 'record' icon on the player display, followed by a green tick to indicate a successful link.

Take your card out of the player and reinsert it to play your new playlist.
