Thorpe Toys is a family-run Canadian business that has been making high-quality wooden toys for over 30 years that are hand-crafted in Waterloo, Ontario.

The Thorpe Family

Thorpe Toys was founded by Jerry and Rosemary Thorpe in 1975, using their own original designs.

They started out making toys for their own children, then for nieces, nephews, and friends, and eventually selling at local craft shows and fairs.

Child-Friendly Natural Wood

All of Thorpe's toys are made from Canadian woods and are left unpainted and unfinished. All items are free from paint, stain, varnish and oils.

Many people choose to finish Thorpe Toys with their own non-toxic paints. This is a wonderful DIY project to do with your children. 

Low Carbon Footprint

Thorpe Toys rescues most of their wood from high-quality new-wood off-cuts that would otherwise have been lost to the waste stream.

They also donate their own off-cuts and sawdust to local schools and farms to reduce waste even further.
