Kinderfeets (a play on word for "kinderfiets," which in Dutch means "child's bike") was founded 10 years ago by Oscar V. Mulder in the Netherlands. He wanted to cultivate an appreciation for adventurous learning in his own son. Kinderfeets is a sustainable business that manufactures active toys and learning tools to support children in their pursuit of independence, confidence and development. Their products are all intentionally-designed to ensure child safety and optimal development, as well as have a low environmental impact.
Crafted with non-timber bamboo and/or birch wood, the Kinderfeets balance bikes are suited with low step-through frames, adjustable seats, foot pegs, biodegradable tires and padded handlebars that guarantee comfort and stability.
Birch wood is a fast-growing and eco-friendly wood option. In addition to using birch wood as an environmentally-friendly practice, they also use non-toxic, water-based paints and lacquers, minimal packaging and recycled paper for product information, which not only helps illustrate their sustainable business approach but also set children up for a lifetime of planet-friendly living.
A part of Kinderfeets annual profits is put toward Trees for the Future – a nonprofit organization that partners with other eco-friendly businesses to plant trees and combat deforestation.
