Montessori Mobiles
Montessori Mobiles have been used in Montessori Infant Communities since 1949. They are the first Montessori materials introduced to a child.
As an infant's vision develops from birth, each mobile targets a different stage in visual development. Each mobile is visually appealing but not overstimulating or overwhelming.
As the infant observes the mobile in a supine position (lying horizontally, face up), they help to promote:
- Concentration and Focus
- Visual tracking skills
These mobiles provide an opportunity for infants to explore movement, colours, light and shadow.
