Grapat

The Grapat family created this business because they believed in the importance of open-ended toys and the idea that children should play uninterrupted and immersed in their imaginations...and nature.

Each items they create is made in a space surrounded by nature and children - their greatest inspirations. Their products are attractive and inviting and meant to encourage children to play and create.

Grapat is made from wood that comes from sustainable forests - specifically beech and birch wood. It is very important at Grapat that the woods natural, raw qualities are highlighted in each product that is created. They accomplish this by using natural dyes, waxes and oils, which allows the wood veins to be seen and each piece to shine slightly. 

Each piece is unique, hand painted and perfectly imperfect. Even the cloth bags that are used to accompany some Grapat sets are recycled from discarded bags larger companies do not want due to defects. By hand, the defects are removed, giving the bags a second chance!  

Grapat toys comply with European safety regulations. The dyes that are used are safe for mouthing and 100% non-toxic.
