We have some great audiobook Yoto cards but if you can't find the pre-recorded book that you want, you can also make your own using one of the Yoto Player Make Your Own (MYO) Cards.

How To Add Audible Audiobooks To Make Your Own Cards

Because Audible audiobooks do not come in mp3 format, a requirement of MYO cards, you'll need to convert them to mp3 files.

You can do that with OpenAudible, which costs $26.95 CAD, a one time software licensing fee.

It's very simple to use and takes just a few minutes to get your audiobook from Audible to mp3. Here is the short video walkthrough from OpenAudible on how to do that - https://youtu.be/kmdv1KYTlak

Other Ways To Get Audiobooks For MYO Cards

Libro.fm is very similar to Audible but you can download the mp3 directly after purchasing - no additional software needed. They have a similar subscription/credit/pricing system to Audible but you can also choose to support a local bookstore with your purchase. When buy an audiobook through Libro.fm, they share some of the purchase proceeds with the store of your choice.

Downpour is very similar to Libro.fm - when you purchase “digital downloads”, your files are automatically in mp3 format. You'll also save more when purchasing a subscription/credit. The only downside is that purchases are made in USD.

Adding Audiobooks in mp3 Format To Make Your Own Cards

Once you have your audiobooks in mp3 format, you can create a playlist and link it to a MYO card.

Back in the Yoto app you will see your newly created playlist in the library.

Tap your new playlist to go to the detail page, then tap the three dot menu and select Link to a Card

Insert a Make Your Own card into your Player and confirm by tapping Link in the pop-up panel.

You should see a red 'record' icon on the player display, followed by a green tick to indicate a successful link.

Take your card out of the player and reinsert it to play your new playlist.
