Grimm's Toys is a family owned manufacturer of beautiful, high quality wooden toys. They are located in Germany where they design minimalistic toys meant to withstand the test of time; to be played with for many, many years.
Grimm's is inspired by the educational philosophies of both Montessori and Waldorf. Their toys are simple and minimalistic, which inspire open-ended play that stimulates the senses, creativity and imagination. The uncoated surfaces of Grimm's Toys have a rough yet velvety feel. This is especially great for building, as pieces do not slip easily. This also provides a rich sensory experience as children explore, build and create. Grimm's uses glazing colours and vegetable oil on their products.
All Grimm's products are unique due to the natural, raw qualities of wood. No two items are exactly the same. These toys are produced using alder, lime, beech and maple wood from sustainable forests in Europe, according to the FSC® standard.
Grimm's outsources work to small independent companies in Europe and employs adults with special needs to help with assembly and packaging.
All Grimm's products are tested regularly and comply with the European Toy Safety Standard (EN 71) and US standards. Their colours are water-based, non-toxic and safe for mouthing. All colours and oils are certified according to the European toy safety standard (EN 71).
