"A very pleasant experience ordering from The Montessori Room. Despite the pandemic and the hectic Christmas rush, the staff made my online purchase personal - from following up directly after the order was placed, to providing information about shipping and the great quality of the toy, I couldn’t have asked for a better service. The special note on the package made it feel like I actually bought it in person. Thank you!"

Young children are naturally drawn to the activities that the adults around them regularly do.
They also have a strong desire to do things independently and take care of themselves.
Giving children the option to participate in practical life activities, like self care, will:
Foster their independence
Develop practical life skills
Give children a sense of satisfaction, while building confidence
Help children become more aware of their physical and emotional needs
Prepare children for the future
Create routine
Give children more bodily autonomy; telling them we understand they're in charge of their bodies and what happens to it
Set up a self-care area at your child’s height, such as a low shelf or table in the bathroom or their room. Make sure everything is within easy reach to encourage independence.
Use a simple basket or tray to hold essential items like a hairbrush and washcloth. This keeps the area tidy and makes it easy for your child to find what they need.
Keep it simple and consistent. A few well-chosen items, placed in the same spot each day, helps your child to establish a routine and build confidence in using the materials independently.
Yes, all of these items can be purchased on their own.
