Plan Toys Shape and Sort

In Stock At Our Store In Toronto (2229 Danforth Ave.)

1 item left

This shape sorter, also known as a Mailbox, develops and strengthens fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as children work to place each shape in its corresponding space in the wooden bench.  The shapes, formally known in Montessori as geometric solids, develop the visual and tactile senses.

Once the geometric solids are placed in the bench, push down on the bar to release them and start all over again.   A great toy for a child interested in exploring cause and effect!

This toy supports optimal development in young children:

  • Fine motor and logical thinking skills as children determine which shape belongs in which slot
  • Visual perception skills are engaged as children use hand-eye coordination to sort each shape successfully
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Mathematical skills: shape recognition, sorting
  • Coordination
  • Concentration
  • Language skills

Dimensions: 24 x 11.5 x 10 cm

Age recommendation: 12 months+
