This lacing frame is great for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.  It's easily portable and makes a great "on-the-go" activity.  Bring it with you to the restaurant, doctor's appointments, while traveling, etc. 

The repetition of the simple actions of threading and unthreading helps to build critical neural pathways that will become the basis for future complex actions.

As the child's skills develop, they will begin to create patterns.  As an extension, you could also add a large cardboard button to "sew" onto the lacing frame.  

Because this toy is natural wood with no paint or stain, it is safe for them to chew on.
