The Fine-Motor Set includes:
Introduce when sitting well without support.
This set is used in Montessori Infant and Toddler classrooms to promote the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration. The hands and wrists are strengthened as they work to remove and place the geometric solids into the corresponding cup.
Introduce each pair individually; starting with the sphere in a bowl, followed by the ovoid in a cup and then finally the peg in a pot.
Matching the geometric solids to the corresponding cup encourages the use of two hands working together, an important skill for dressing, writing, and many other activities young children will learn in the coming years. The peg promotes the use of the pincer grip and requires more focus as the hole in the pot is the smallest of the three.
All materials are handmade in Canada.
Please note that these are handmade so each piece is unique and will slightly differ in colour, size, wood grain and finish. This uniqueness is the wonderful part about these items.
Comes in a canvas bag for easy storage and portability.
Developmentally appropriate for ages 8 months + or once the child is sitting up without support
