Here's an activity inspired by my youngest son's beaver troop.
We recently learned about the flags for the different Canadian provinces and territories, a fun activity for the children, as well as many of the adults.
If you inspect the flags closely, you can probably guess most of them correctly based on the little details!
So we made a set of 3-Part Nomenclature Cards for each of the 10 provinces and 3 territories here.
Learning about the places that make up Canada gives children an opportunity to build vocabulary and develop an understanding of the country around them.
In the Montessori classroom, 3-Part Nomenclature Cards help children connect an image with its name. With Canadian Provinces and Territories cards, children can become familiar with the names and flags of each province and territory while beginning to recognize them as distinct regions of Canada.
Language cards help children:

Here are instructions on how to use the cards: How to Present 3-Part Language Cards.
Extension Activity:
As an extension, these cards can be paired with a map of Canada. Children can match each province and territory card to its location on the map, helping them connect the name and flag with the actual geography of Canada.
You can also find our entire collection of 3-Part Nomenclature Cards in this folder here.
