Fit the Shape is a wooden set of 3 geometric solids with containers that fit the shape perfectly inside.
This set is used in Montessori Infant and Toddler classrooms to promote the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration. The hands and wrists are strengthened as they work to remove and place the geometric solids into the corresponding cup.
Introduce each pair individually; starting with the sphere in a bowl, followed by the ovoid in a cup and then finally the cube in a box.
Matching the geometric solids to the corresponding container encourages the use of two hands working together, an important skill for dressing, writing, and many other activities young children will learn in the coming years.
Developmentally appropriate for ages 7 months + or once the child is sitting up without support
