Hugimals are soft, weighted plush animals designed to provide comfort and a calming sense of a hug. Each Hugimal weighs approximately 4.5 pounds, with weight evenly distributed throughout its body, head, arms, and legs, simulating the feeling of a comforting embrace.
Hugimals were created by Marina Khidekel, a former journalist with a background in wellness media. Inspired by her own experiences with nighttime anxiety, she sought a solution that combined the soothing effects of a weighted blanket with the emotional support of a plush toy. Collaborating with doctors, psychologists, and occupational therapists, Marina designed Hugimals to provide therapeutic benefits in a comforting form. They help reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, improve sleep quality, and offer a soothing tactile sensory experience.
